1973 The first PTNA Piano Festival.
1977 First PTNA Young Pianist Competition, known thereafter as the PTNA Piano Competition.Creation of the PTNA Teacher's Award.
1985 Recognised by the (Japanese) Ministry of Education as an NPO (non-profit organisation).Inauguration of the Japan Mozart Music Competition.The first "Promising Teen Performers" Competition.
1989 PTNA joined the first "ManabiPia", an event to promote the study of piano, where unprecedented 111 pianists played together on 111 grand pianos. 15th PTNA Piano Competition was held, in which the "Composer's Prize for Required Contemporary Composition" was established.The award for "Piano Compositions of Excellence" is established as an incentive to composers.
1990 Established Amuse Grade (now GrandMuse Grade) in the PTNA Piano Competition.
1991 Established the New Composition Award in the Competition. The aim is to discover outstanding piano works and promote composition.
1994 Total number of participants in the Competition exceeds 20,000 per year.
1995 Senior Piano Circle (now "Piano Life") established. Gifu Prefecture joinedTokyo PTNA in sponsoring and organising the Japan Mozart Music Competition.
1996 20th PTNA Piano Competition was held with the attendance of HRH Prince Takamado at the?Final and Awards Ceremony. Concerto Category was added to commemorate 20th anniversary.?PTNA Piano Teachers' Seminar?was inaugurated.
1997 PTNA Piano STEP, concert-style evaluation, was launched to enhance lifelong learning of music.?Online Teacher-Student introduction service?launched.
1999 PTNA Talk Concert?was inaugurated.
2000 The first Chamber Music Ensemble Seminar was held. Selections of PTNA Annual Research Paper contributions first published on the internet.
2001 Yasuko Fukuda (Founder) was passed away and Seikoh Fukuda succeeded as new CEO and Secretary.
2002 Audience Prize was adopted in Grade Superior.
2003 Yasuko Fukuda Scholarship Audition?was inaugurated. Establishment of Junior G grade. Total number of contestants reached 30,000. First issue of Magazine"Amuse"(renamed to "Grand Muse")
2004 Amuse Grade changed its name to GrandMuse Grade.
2005 School Classroom Concerts Project?started. Starting of the new music score sales system "MUSSE"
2006 The 30th PTNA Piano Competition was held.?1400 participants attended PTNA 40th Anniversary Fesival "Zimmerman talks about the Secrets of Music"
2007 PTNA 40th Anniversary "Evening of Piano Concerti" was held at Suntory Hall. With Maestro Kazumasa Watanabe on tact, three PTNA soloists each performed with the NHK Symphony Orchestra. First streaming service in the PTNA Piano Competition Superior Grade.
2008 Total number of contestants of 32nd PTNA Piano Competition reached 40,000. 62nd PTNA Piano Festival was held having 10 early keyboards on stage.?"PTNA Piano Channel"?launched on Youtube. Upgrade of?PTNA Online Community.
2009 Inauguration of new Chairperson (Nobuyuki Idei), vice Chairperson(Yuichiro Hata), and?board members.?Lesson Studio Visiting Program?began.?
2010 Started networking local piano/music competitions.?Public Recording Concert Series,?Music Branch Concert Collaborative Series,?Comprehensive Musicianship Workshop?were launched. PTNA started accepting intern students from colleges.?
2011 Yasuko Fukuda Scholarship Foundation?was acknowledged as a public interest incorporated association.?PTNA took leadership in encouraging musical support to evacuees of Great East Japan Earthquake, and this dedication was later awarded by Ministry (MEXT). New experiments in PTNA Piano Competition to put more emphasis on educational aspects (student jury, Grade A2 memorial concert). PTNA Piano STEP commemorated 15th anniversary. 2013 Total number of participants in the PTNA Piano STEP exceeds 40,000. Opened the "PTNA My Page". The first IFPS (International Federation of Piano Societies) conference is held at the invitation of PTNA. Held "Teaching Seminar & Poster Session" at the Teaching Seminar.
2014 Held the first "Ensemble Park" training and exchange meeting for PTNA members. Launched "PTNA Room Share".
2015 Introduction of "POST (PTNA Online Second Teacher)," "Solfege Classroom Introduction," and "Recital Observation." Revised the "Teacher's Certification" to "Teacher's License." Begined web report series "Music Now".
2016 Held the 50th Anniversary Celebration & Concert.
2017 Total number of participants in affiliated competitions exceeds 10,000 pairs. Introduced "Smart Membership Card."
2018 Held PTNA Piano Competition Grade Superior FINAL at Suntory Hall. The PTNA Piano Encyclopedia Public Recording Concerts, which began in 2010, reaches its 200th session.
2019 Established Grade Pre-Superior for competitions.
2020 PTNA Piano Competition's Solo Section A2-F grade, Duo Section, and GrandMuse Section canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The "Repertoire Challenge" was implemented. "Chopin Day", an event connecting venues nationwide via YouTube, was held on 17 October, the "Chopin's death anniversary."
2021 The website reports on the 18th Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw, Poland. The website received a remarkable number of hits on 'note'.
2022 Cumulative participation in competitions, STEP, and affiliated competitions surpasses 100,000 pairs.
2023 Mr. Fumio Tateishi (Honorary Advisor, OMRON Corporation) assumes the position of chairman. The number of subscribers to "e-learning" reaches 5,000.
